Mugė
brand identity • 2022
I have created this brand identity for a fictional art gallery "Mugė" (Fair from Lithuanian). As part of this project I have designed the logo, animations and other materials.
This gallery is supposed to be a nomadic art community that would occupy abandoned buildings and host art exhibitions for the emerging local artists.
The word “Mugė”, comes from an old Lithuanian expression that meant “to make noise”. The main naming rationale was an intention to be clear about the nature of the "fair" - monetize/sell the art. The character was created by accident, a while ago, and I have found a great application for it in this logo. It represents an independent and wandering nature of the gallery.
I have sampled the brand colors from variuos geographic and historic objects that are related to Vilnius city.
